  Vernon W. Guthrie (By Chronicle Correspondent) NEW DUNDEE. - Vernon William Guthrie, 16-months-old son of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Guthrie, passed away at his home, two miles west of the village on Monday, following a Lingering illness. Surviving are his parents and one sister, Miriam. The funeral was held at the family residence at 2 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon. Rev. H. Plyley, pastor of the Plattsville and Washington United Churches, who was in charge of the service, chose as the text for his message, El Samuel 12: 1-23. Rev. M. H. Shantz assisted at the service and a vocal duet, "The Meeting in the Air", was rendered by Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Coleman. The pallbearers were: Perry Thomson of Washington, Frank Thomson of Plattsville, Ernest Coleman of Galt, Hugh Guthrie of Ayr. Interment was made in the Ayr cemetery.
