  BRYANS, Mabel After a lengthy illness, at Henderson Hospital, Hamilton, on Sunday, Feb. 14, 1988, in her 80th year, Mabel Emily Statham, of Paris, Ont. and formerly of Ayr. Beloved wife of Clarence Bryans; dear mother of Alex and his wife Bernadette of Ayr. Sadly missed by granddaughters, Tiffany and Kristine. Dear sister of Ella Cavanaugh and family of Bothwell. Predeceased by her parents, Howard and Mabel Statham of Strathroy and brothers, Richard, Ted and Ken Statham. Mabel was active in the Ayr Women's Institute, as well as the Plattsville chapter, prior to living in Ayr. A life member of Ayr Knox United Church Women, she also served on the church board of managers. For many years she played a formative role in the establishment of Cradle Rolls in Cambridge (Galt), Plattsville and Ayr. As the result of her involvement with Ayr Sesqui Centennial Committee in 1974, she was among the first to receive the Village Heritage Award. Friends will be received at the William Kipp Funeral Home, 184 Grand River St. N., Paris, Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., where complete funeral service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 17, at 1: 30 p.m. Interment Ayr cemetery.
