  Death Of Lloyd Markle One of the most popular members of the farming community south of Ayr, Lloyd E. Markle passed away at Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto, on Sunday in his 67th year. Mr. Markle had been in ill health for a lengthy period. He was born near Paris, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Markle, and lived all of his life on the farm on the 5th concession of South Dumfries. During World War I he went overseas with the 215th Btn. and served in France with the 54th Btn. He continued his interest in veterans' affairs through membership in the Paris branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. He was a member of Christ Anglican Church, Ayr. Surviving, besides his wife, the former Edna May Jarvis, are two daughters , Mrs. Ian (Marie) Cruickshank and Mrs. John (Dorothy) Harkness of Paris district; a brother, Ralph, at RR 2, Paris, and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers. The Funeral Funeral service was held on Monday at the Bruce B. Smith Funeral Home, Paris, conducted by Rev. James Stockton, RR 2, Paris. Interment was made in Ayr Cemetery. Pallbearers were neighbors: John T. Kennedy, Sanford Hutty and Glen Mellick; Harvey Brown, Platteville; Roy Kelley, Norwich, and William Humphrey, Toronto.
