- Betty Lucille Muma (nee Urquhart), with her family at her side, passed away peacefully at the Brantford General Hospital on November 17th, 1998. She was in her 82nd year. Beloved wife of the late Wesley Arnold Muma, and loving mother of John Muma of Winnipeg. Dear grandmother of Kim Batty and her husband Tracy of Branchton, Barbara Scott and her husband Bruce of Paris, Shelley Muma and her husband Craig of Cambridge, and Teresa Muma of Winnipeg. Dear great-grandmother of Samantha, Justine and Jody Batty, Jennifer and Matthew Scott and Tia Priddle. Dear sister-in-law of Mary Muma of Guelph. Mrs. Muma was predeceased by her parents John and Flora Urquhart of Stouffville, her brothers-in-law Gordon Muma of Cambridge and William (Bill) Muma of St. Marys, and her sisters-in-law Belva Nichols of Ayr and Chris Muma of Winnipeg. Formerly of Ayr, the Urquhart family resided in Ayr for many years. Betty received her elementary and high school education in Ayr and was a grad of K-W Hospital, and worked as a nurse there and in Galt Memorial Hospital. After the death of her husband, she moved back to Cambridge and resumed her nursing career at Brantford General Hospital until retirement in 1982. Since her retirement she travelled and enjoyed time with the Business and Professional Women's Club of Cambridge. One highlight of her life was being a member of First United Church in Cambridge for many years. She was thrilled to take her first hot air balloon ride at the age of 80. Rested at the Corbett Funeral Home, Cambridge, where the funeral service was held on Saturday, November 21st with Rev. Robert Merritt officiating. Interment Ayr Cemetery. "Miss me, but let me go."
