  Ruth Guthrie Kirkwood, Ayr, resident, Ruth Elizabeth Guthrie died at the Willett Hospital, Paris on Wednesday, July 17, 2002. Mrs. Guthrie was in her 90th year. Born in Waterloo Township, Mrs. Guthrie was a daughter of the late John Letson and Isobela Christina Cress. Mrs. Guthrie farmed with her husband, the late Hugh Guthrie (1988) on the 11th Concession, Blenheim Township for many years before their retirement. She is survived by her daughter Gail and her husband Jim Sherk of Ayr; son Glen and his wife Jean of Innerkip; grandchildren Ken Sherk (Dawn), Julie Guthrie (Brian Dunford) and Scott Guthrie; sisters Janet Johnson and Helen McCloy and by brothers, Byron Letson (Eirwen), Leonard Letson (Thelma), Russell Letson (Lorraine), all of Cambridge. In addition to her husband and her parents she was predeceased by sister Isobel Pinnell and brother Harvey Letson. Funeral service was held at the Ayr Chapel, Wm. Kipp Funeral Home on Saturday, July 20. Reverend Fred Hagle of Knox United Church officiated. Interment was in Ayr Cemetery. The Ayr News 7 Aug 2002 pg 12
