    • Douglas Lillico Dies In West

      A well-known former resident of this area, Douglas Lillico, passed away in Edmonton on Sunday in his 63rd year. He had been in ill health for some time. He was born on the Lillico farm on the 11th concession of Blenheim, a son of the late John Hugh Lillico and Christena Barton. The home is now owned by Mrs. O. J. Breidenbaugh. He remained on the farm until his departure for the West 18 years ago. In his early years he was a well-known local hockey player, performing with the Ayr Vics of pre-war years. He was also a curler of considerable skill and was associated with the local curling club for a number of years. He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Pringle Brown (Katherine) of Ayr, Mrs. Harvey Schermerhorn (Christena) of Drumbo and Mrs. William Molson (Jessie) of Cainsville, and a brother, McIntyre (Mac) Lillico of Brantford. Funeral service will he held on Thursday a 3 p.m. at Ayr Cemetery Chapel, with Rev, D. E. Willis officiating.
