- Mrs. John T Hall Passes
A well-known Ayr resident, Mrs. John T. Hall, passed away at Brantford General Hospital on Thursday, January 19th. She was in her 77th year. Born in England, she was the former Hilda Richardson, daughter of the late Emanuel Richardson and Sarah English. The family moved to Canada and took up residence in Richwood where Mr. Richardson was a blacksmith. Upon marriage to John T. Hall, the couple resided on his parental farm, RR 3, Ayr, now owned by Ken Fraser. Some 30 years ago the tlall family moved to Northumberland Street, Ayr. Mrs. Hall was a valued member of Knox United Church, Ayr. She served her church in various capacities which included sitting on the board of managers, a number of years as secretary; Sunday School teacher; member and holder of several offices in the U.C.W. Mrs. Hall was a member of the Blenheim-Dumfries Farm Women's Club and former member of Ayr Women's Institute. She was very talented at needlework with specialties being needlepoint and hairpin lace. She was one of the organizers of the former North Dumfries Arts and Crafts Show which was held for several years. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by three children, Johnny, Billy and Lois and two brothers, Ted and Bill Richardson. Surviving are a daughter Mrs. Glen (Norma) Labron of Paris; a son Robert of Ayr; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; two sisters Mrs. Jennie Curtis and Mrs. George (Margaret) Pinkett, both of Paris; two brothers, Bob of Chatham and Jack of Brantford. Rested at the William Kipp Funeral Home, Paris, until Sunday afternoon when funeral service was held at Knox United Church, Ayr. Rev. George Saunders officiated. Interment in Ayr Cemetery.
