Notes - Pieter Melse Sr. - Pieter Melse Sr. of Bute Street, Ayr, passed away in St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, on Saturday, April 11th. He was in his 74th year. Born in Holland, he came to Canada in 1957 and had been a resident of Ayr for the past 15 years. He was a retired electrical engineer. Mr. Melse was an elder of Knox United Church, Ayr. Beloved husband of Janet (Meyer) Melse of Ayr and dear father of Pieter Jr. and his wife Elaine of Parry Sound, Bert and his wife Edith of Edmonton, Alta., Dave and his wife Elizabeth of Ayr and John and his wife Marion of Kitchener; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Dear brother of Sarah Melse and Cornelius Melse, both of Holland. Predeceased by his infant son, Jan; infant granddaughter Christa Lee and three brothers. Rested at the Westmount Funeral Chapel, Kitchener, where service was conducted by Rev. George Saunders of Knox United Church, Ayr, on Tuesday. Interment Ayr Cemetery.
