    • James (Bill) Schram Killed

      An employee of Date Industries Limited, Ayr, James Ernest (Bill) Schram, 47, of Hespeler, was killed on Highway 401 Friday evening. Kitchener O.P.P. said Mr. Schram apparently had car problems while driving on the highway, and had pulled his car to the side of the passing lane on the Grand River bridge. He was out of his car to flag down passing motorists when he was struck by a vehicle operated by Gerald Mitrovich of London. Mr. Schram had been employed at Date Industries for 12 years and at the time of his passing had been the cupola operator. He was predeceased by his first wife. Rose, in 1967, and is survived by his second wife, the former Pauline Morrison. Also surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Schram of RR 3, Ayr; four brothers, Lorne of Cambridge (Galt), Bert and Clarence of Ayr and Harvey of Hamilton; four sisters, Mrs. Don (Bertha) McMillan and Mrs. Ralph (Gladys) McMillan, both of RR 4, Galt, Mrs. John (Millie) Garnham and Mrs. Charles (Eileen) Beke, both of Cambridge (Galt). Funeral service was held in Hespeler on Tuesday afternoon with interment in Ayr cemetery. Pallbearers were Dave Dickson, George Wilkes, George Rutherford, Richard Rising, Roy Appleby and James Mast.
