  Mrs. C. A. Gillard Dies in 89th Year Mrs. Courtney A. Gillard, 88 years, died at her home in Kitchener on Thursday. The former Hannah Elizabeth Stanhope, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Stanhope, she was born In Bristol, England. Her husband predeceased her in 1952 and a son, Francis, was killed in action In 1918. She resided in Ayr with her daughter for some time before going to Kitchener seven and a half years ago. Surviving are: a son, Fred of Toronto; three daughters, Mrs. Roy (Hannah) Cooper of Kitchener, Mrs. William (Elsie) Winchester of Hamilton and Mrs. H. G. (Nora) Taylor of Ayr; a brother, Fred Stanhope of England; 21 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. Rev. T. Rutherford of Highland Road United Church conducted the funeral service at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home on Saturday. Interment was in Ayr Cemetery. The Ayr News Jun 9 1960 pg 7
