    • Mrs. Roelof VanOostveen of RR 1, Ayr, passed away Friday, November 13th in Cambridge Memorial Hospital. She was 78. The former Cornelia Driessin, she was born in Holland. The VanOostyeen family came to Canada in 1949, living in Embro and Princeton before purchasing a farm on Greenfield Road, RR 1, Ayr, in 1951. Mrs. VanOostveen was a charter member of First Reform Church, Galt, the Golden Agers Club and Ladies Guild of the church and a member of North Dumfries Senior Citizens. Surviving besides her husband are five sons Cornelus of Listowel, Jan of Burlington, Roelof A. of Harriston, Kryn of Lakeside and Wynand of RR 1, Ayr; four daughters, Mrs. Case (Ida) DeGier of Hickson, Mrs. Peter (Anna) Geene of Delaware, Mrs. AI (Cornelia) DeVries of RR 1, Ayr and Mrs. Henk (Willemina) Ruiter of Burlington; two sisters of Burlington; 35 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Predeceased by a son Willem in 1955. Funeral service was held at First Reform Church, Galt, on Monday. Interment in Ayr Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons Harry DeGier, Albert DeVries, David Geene, Randy Geene, Stuart VanOostveen and Roeland VanOostveen.
