  BURIED IN AYR The death took place at Hamilton on July 4th of George B. Matthews, a former resident of the Ayr district, aged 72 years. For some years, he conducted a farm on the 7th concession of Blenheim. For the past year, he had been in failing health. He is survived by one son, William Matthews of Vancouver; two daughters, Mrs. Wm. Brewer (Gladys), Hamilton, and Mrs. Clifford Francis (Blanche), Paris. There are also three grandchildren. His wife predeceased him some years ago. The funeral was held from the H. C. Swackhamer Funeral Home, Hamilton, on Saturday afternoon, with interment in Ayr Cemetery The Ayr News Jul 12 1945 pg 3
