Death of Mrs. Leslie Vincent
A dark gloom spread over the whole community when it was told from one to another on Sabbath morning that Mrs. Vincent, beloved wife of Leslie C. Vincent, had passed to that bourne from which no traveler ever returns. During the previous week she had been ill with Spanish Influenza and for some days it was thought she would rally, but taking a relapse which developed into pneumonia, and with all loving hands and medical skill could do, she passed away. She was of an affectionate disposition, so that friendship's circle was to her a large one. She was born in the Cedar Creek district of North Dumfries and some 12 years ago she married Mr. Vincent, to whom she has been an ideal wife, and to her little daughter Helen a loving mother. For the last number of years she and her husband have resided on their farm in South Dumfries. She was a consistent member of Knox United Church, Ayr. Her untimely death, just in the prime of life, is deeply regretted by a whole circle of friends and associates who held her in the highest esteem. She leaves to mourn their loss her husband and her daughter, aged six years, and a brother overseas. The floral offerings from the Mission Band, of which she was a member and other friends, were beautiful. The funeral took place on Tuesday to the Ayr cemetery, the service at the home being conducted by deceased's pastor, Rev. J. J. Brown. The pallbearers were: Messrs. John Brown, Thos. Brown, James Hall, John L. Black, Robert Cranston and Thos. Hall.
