    • Mrs. Kenneth S. McLaren Passes

The death occurred at Sutherland's Nursing Home, Woodstock, on Sunday in her 84th year of Mrs. Annabelle McLaren, widow of the late Kenneth Stuart McLaren. She was a daughter of the late Alfred and Agnes Harmer. Surviving are 3 sons, James and Alex of Drumbo and David of Tillsonburg, 7 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

The late Mrs. McLaren had spent all her life in Blenheim Township. In her early years she lived on the 10th and 3rd Concessions. At the time of her marriage the family lived on the farm now owned by Glen Cruickshank. After her marriage she moved to the first farm west of Drumbo on the 7th Concession. The rest of her life was spent there until she went to the nursing home about 2 years ago.

Mrs. McLaren had taken a very active part in church and community activities. She was a member of Willis United Church, a life member of the W.M.S. and U.C.W., and was also an active member and one of the very early members of the Drumbo Women's Institute. In evidence of her life-long interest in church work, was a W.M.S. meeting held in her home on Sept. 15, 1960, for which she had planned the entire program on her early memories of the W.M.S. in the Methodist and Presbyterian Church in Drumbo.

This was an anniversary of the first meeting for which she had entertained in her home 50 years previously, and many early members and former members were guests. Mrs. McLaren was a highly esteemed resident of this community and will be greatly missed by a wide circle of friends.

The funeral service was held Wednesday, March 6, at 2: 30 p.m., in the Rumble Funeral Home, Princeton, with Rev. A. M. Manson in charge. Temporary entombment was in the Drumbo Mausoleum with later interment in the Ayr Cemetery.
