  Betty Pitcher Mary E. (Betty) Pitcher of Kitchener, passed away at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener on Saturday, March 4th, 2000. The former Mary Elizabeth Easton, she was born in Ayr on November 21st, 1912, a daughter of Thomas Easton and Olive King. Betty was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, the Ladies' Auxiliary of the church and the K-W Hospital Auxiliary. She graduated from Hamilton Normal School and taught in Woodstock and rural Kitchener schools before her marriage in 1942. Dear mother to George of England, Mary and her husband Charles Battel of St. Catharines, Hugh and his wife Susi of Kitchener; much loved grandmother to Carrie, Matthew and Jesse Pitcher and Megan Battel. Predeceased by her husband George in 1995 and brother, William Easton. Rested at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, Kitchener. Funeral service will be held today (Wed.) at 11 a.m., St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Covenant Chapel. Interment Ayr Cemetery. The Ayr News Mar 8 2000 pg 14
