    • Plattsville Girl Killed in Bicycle-Car Crash - A Plattsville district couple lost their second child in seven years by accident Friday. Jennifer Helen Hall, eight-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hall, RR 4, Bright, was killed in a bicycle-car crash on Highway 97 near her home. She had taken her bicycle out of winter storage Thursday. Provincial Police said the girl had ridden out of her driveway, along the highway a short distance and was returning to her home when she collided with a station wagon driven by Donald W. Sterling, 27, of London, Ontario, a Bell Canada employee driving a company vehicle. Police said the driver steered into the left lane to pass the bicyclist from behind, but hit her as she turned into her driveway. The girl was carried on the hood of the car for a short distance. She was pronounced dead at the scene by Coroner Dr. J. R. Blackwood. The Halls lost their seven-year-old son, Gary, in 1963, when he fell into a bin of grain and suffocated. This was Oxford County's second fatality involving children on bicycles within two days. Jennifer was born December 28, 1962, at Woodstock Hospital. She was a Grade 2 pupil at Plattsville district public school and attended Plattsville United Church Sunday School. Surviving besides her parents are three brothers, Brian, Robert and Darren, and a sister, Dianne and grandmothers, Mrs. David Hall of Plattsville and Mrs. Russell Abernathy of Kitchener. The body rested at the Glendinning Funeral Home, Plattsville, where funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. Burial was made in Ayr Cemetery. Rev. H. D. Pillen of Plattsville United Church officiated. Pallbearers were Donald Hewitt, Glen Radke, Bill Brown and Hans Luvken. Flower bearers were Lorne Peat, John Hofstetter, Jim McCartney and Harry Moss.
