  MRS. THOMAS BEATTIE Ellen Lindsay Hunter, widow of the late Thomas Beattie of Drumbo, passed away suddenly at 10 o'clock Friday morning at the home of Mrs. Landreth, Northumberland street, Where she had been visiting for the past few months. Mrs. Beattie, who had been poorly for some time, came to Ayr from Paris at the end of September. Until the passing of her husband about eight years ago, she lived in Drumbo but following his demise had moved to Paris. She was born on the 10th concession of Blenheim and had been a resident of this district all her life. She was a member of the United Church at Paris and belonged to Paris Women's Institute. There are no survivors. Mrs. Ernest Hunter of Paris is a sister-in-law and Mrs. Harold Telfer of Paris is a niece. The funeral was held Monday afternoon, with service at the home of Mrs. Landreth and interment in Ayr Cemetery. The Ayr News Jan 22 1942 pg 10
