    • George Brown Passes - George Brown of Newell Street, Ayr, passed away Friday. He was in his 76th year. Mr. Brown was a lifelong resident of Burin, Nfld., until moving to Ontario last May. He lived with a daughter in Galt until July when he moved to Ayr to live with another daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Chislette, Newell Street. Mr. Brown was a member of the United Church in Burin. As well as being the lay reader n the church, he was the Sunday School superintendent for 23 years. He was a 50-year member and past master of the Loyal Orange Lodge. Surviving are his wife, the former Gertrude Mouton of Ayr; daughters Mrs. Harry (Beatrice) Chislette, Ayr; Mrs. George (Mary) Tarrant, and Mrs. Ed. (Grace) Tilley, both of Galt; one son Harold of B Burin, Nfld., 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral service was held from Little's Funeral Home, Galt, on Monday afternoon, with Rev. D. E. Willis of Knox United Church, Ayr, officiating. Pallbearers were grandchildren Harold and Edward Tilley and Lorne and Harold Tarrant, all of Galt, and Robert and Harry Chislette, both of Ayr.
