    • Edgar N. Smith Passes

      The death occurred early Tuesday in South Waterloo Memorial Hospital of Edgar N. Smith, 74, of Hespeler, a former resident of this village. He was ill for some time but was taken to hospital only on Monday. Mr. Smith, who was born near St. George, came to Ayr from south Saskatchewan some 15 years ago, and lived here until removing to Hespeler to reside with his daughter little more than a year ago. While his health permitted Mr. Smith was an industrial worker. He was a member of Knox United Church while in Ayr and took an active part in church activities. He was also associated with the Upper Canada Bible Society. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Leo Hachey (Doris) of Ayr and Mrs. Bruce Seaton (Ione) of Hespeler; two sisters, Miss Emily Smith of Dundas and Mrs. Florence Bean of Simcoe; four brothers, Chester of Hamilton, Percy of Toronto, and Stanley and Ashton in the United States. The Funeral The funeral will be held from the W. O. Ball Funeral Parlor on Thursday at 2.30 p.m., with interment in Ayr Cemetery.
