    • Mrs. Edgar Smith

      The death occurred in the K-W Hospital on Friday, following an operation, of Mrs. Edgar Smith, aged 89 years. The late Mrs. Smith, who had been in ailing health for about a year, was a respected Ayr resident for nearly 20 years. The former Matilda Kitchen, she was born in South Dumfries, and was the last surviving member of her generation. She was a Baptist by faith. Surviving are her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Leo Hachey (Doris) of Ayr, and six grandchildren. Mrs. Bruce Seaton (nee Iona Kitchen) of Hespeler, formerly of Ayr, is a niece. The funeral was held from the W. O. Ball Funeral Parlor on Mon-day, the service being conducted by Rev. W. D. Goodger. Interment was made in Ayr Cemetery. The pall-bearers were: Carl Weitzel, George Stockton, James Dance, Andrew C. Bail, Vernon Ventham and Andrew Stockton. Friends and relatives were in attendance from Toronto. Hamilton, Simcoe, Agincourt and Hespeler.
