- Bruce Burt Passes In London
The death occurred at Westminster Hospital, London, on Friday of Bruce Burt, 75, a former Ayr resident.
Born in England, Mr. Burt came to Canada as a young man. He enlisted in the 18th Battalion in World War I and saw lengthy overseas service.
He came to Ayr over 20 years ago, where he resided on Walter street for a number of years. He moved to Preston following the death of his wife in 1954. He subsequently moved to London, where he had since resided. Mr. Burt had been hospitalized since the first of the year.
Funeral service was held on Monday at the Ayr Cemetery Chapel, conducted by Rev. W. J. V. Buchanan. The pallbearers were: J. Ewald, Kitchener; H. Worsfold, London; G. S. Dalrymple, H. Cornford, Don Dance and Marten Vincent, all of Ayr.
