    • ALLAN TEATHER 1940.

      Pte. Allan Teather is one of three sons of Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Teather, 45 Grand Ave. S., who is on active service. Allan is with the Perth M.G. regiment. A brother George is with the same unit and a brother Charles is with the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry. Allan is married, his wife and two children residing on the Hespeler Rd., Galt. Born at Wakefield, Yorkshire, Eng., on Aug. 15, 1910, Pte. Teather received his schooling in Preston and Galt. He was a shoeworker before enlisting. His father and five uncles served in the last war. A. J. Hadfield, the well known R.S.M. of the 1st Bin. H.L.I. of C., is one of his uncles. He is Protestant in religion.

      Two Galt Men Are Wounded Dec. 27, 1944

      Pte. Allan Teather. 34. and Pte Kenneth Billington, 23, have been wounded in action in Italy. Pte. Teather's wife, Hespeler Rd., and Pte. Billington's mother, 36 Stanley street, were advised today by the director of records. Each was said to be "slightly wounded" and in hospital.

      Pte. Teather, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles G. Teather, 45 Grand avenue south, has a brother, CQMS. George Teather, who is also in Italy. Another brother, Sergt. Charles Teather, was killed in action at Dieppe, Allan arrived in Italy last January. Last summer he was in hospital in the United Kingdom for four months recovering from fractures sustained in an accident during a blackout. Pte. Billington, who arrived in Italy about three months ago, has been in the army for about four years. An older brother, Fred, age 25, was injured in Italy during the summer and has been in hospital and at a convalescent depot for about five months. Fred was married in England and his mother expects that her son's wife will be coming to Canada soon.
