  A. Laidlaw Nickerson Passes - Albert Laidlaw Nickerson passed away in Cornwall on Sunday. A native of Ayr, he was a son of the late Albert Nickerson and Mary Anderson. He was a member of the former Ayr Methodist Church and later, after union, the Knox United Church. He was a member of the Ayr masonic Lodge. Mr. Nickerson went to school in Ayr and after leaving school was employed for a time at the local C.P.R. station. He later became employed by the B.A. Oil Company, being stationed at Leamington, Welland and Cornwall. While in Cornwall he supervised the distribution of the firm's products to equipment working on the construction of the St. Lawrence Seaway in the Cornwall area. Surviving are his wife, the former Nell Wright; one son, Terry of Toronto; and one daughter, Jill of Toronto. Funeral service was held in Cornwall with committal services held Wednesday (today) at the Ayr Cemetery chapel. Rev. D. E. Willis of Knox United Church, Ayr officiated for the service here.
