  DEATH OF MR. JOHN SCHWASS An old and well-known resident of Centreville pased away on Friday in the person of Mr. John Henry Christian Schwass after suffering for few days from summer complaint, The ceased was born in Hinxenbagen, Mecklenberg, Germany on July 5th, 1830, and was in his 82nd year. He emigrated to Canada in 1819 and settled in Centreville where he has been engaged in farming ever since. He was betrothed before coming to this country and in 1852, accompanied by her father, Miss Sophia Tasenow came to Canda was wedded to the deceased by pastor Wuschter, at Preston. The union was blessed with a family of seven children, three of whom survive, namely, Mrs. Henry Affidat, and Mrs. John Ortman of Centreville and Mrs. Henry Joms of Doon. There are also nineteen grandchildren and three great grand children Mrs. Sebwass died in Jure of lest year. The deceased was ode of the charter members of St. Pet er's Lutheran Church. The funeral held on Sunday afternoon at 1.30 o'clock from the residence to the Freeport church for service and the Riverside cemetery for internment. Rev. F. E. Oberlander officiated.
