  James Edwin (Ed) Jones James Edwin (Ed) Jones of Welland passed away on Thursday, May 20, 1982 at Welland County General Hospital. He was in his 85th year. Born in Ayr he was a Welland resident since 1915. An accountant, he was manager-treasurer of Page Hersey Stelco Credit Union for 10 years and was employed for more than 37 years with Plymouth Cordage retiring in 1970. He was one of the founders of the first industrial credit unions in Canada and many of his interests were centred around credit unions. He was a member of Central United Church. He is survived by his wife the former Clara Worzel; one brother Truman Jones of Welland and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers and three sisters. Funeral service was held on Monday, May 24, 1982 at the H. L. Cudney Funeral Chapel, Welland with Rev. Donald Parsons of Central United Church officiating. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.
