Dr. Eoin Alister Currie of Bruce Beach passed away on Monday, December 29th at Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto. Dr. Currie was a son of the late Rev. J. W. and Mrs. Currie, born in 1919. He resided for many years in Ayr, attending public and continuation school here. Survived by his wife of 43 years, the former Louise Simmons; his family, Barbara and Anthony Lea of Dallas, Texas; Frances and Raymond Gordon of Burlington; David and Heather of Carleton Place; Elizabeth and Michael Cuddy of Jeddah, Saudia Arabia; Paul and Debbie of Windsor, Craig of Kingston, and their children; his brother Donald and Marjorie of Ancaster. Funeral service was held in the Kincardine United Church on Friday with Dr. Norman Perry officiating. Interment in Kincardine Cemetery.

Dr. Eoin Alister Currie
Dr. Eoin Alister Currie died in Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto, Ontario on Monday Dec. 29, 1986 after a long illness. He was born in Tara, Ont. son of Rev. and Mrs. J.W. Currie. He attended schools in Ayr, Galt and Paris and graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1943. In World War II he became a captain in the R.C.A.M.C. After discharge from the army he was in family practice in Parry Sound, Kingsville and Paris, Ontario for sixteen years and then was employed by Federal Department of Veterans Affairs at Westminster Hospital in London and Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto where he was Senior Treatmemt Medical Officer. At D.V.A. Head Office in Ottawa he was responsible for health care of Veterans across Canada. He ended his career as Regional Director of Health Care Services with the Department of Solicitor General in Kingston where he was responsible for health care services in all federal institutions in Ontario. He was a member of the United Church of Canada, St. John's Masonic Lodge in Paris and Order of the Eastern Star in Paris. He has been a summer resident of Bruce Beach since 1922. Since 1981 it has been his permanent home. He has been loved by his wife of 43 years, Louise Simmons and their children Barbara and Anthony Lea of Dallas Texas, Frances and Raymond Gordon of Burlington, David and Heather of Carleton Place, Elizabeth and Michael Cuddy of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Paul and Debbie of Windsor, Craig of Kingston and their families; and his brother Donald and Marjorie of Ancaster. Funeral services were from the United Church in Kincardine with Dr. Norman Perry officiating. Burial to be in Kincardine Cemetery. Pall Bearers were nephews, John Currie, Jeff Simmons, Scott Simmons, Douglas Simmons, Michael Kyrzakos and Robert Bevan.
