      EUREKA, CALIF. (P)- Mark E. Verg, 80, and his wife, Fannie, 75, of Oakland, were killed Saturday in a head-on automobile collision on U.S. Highway 101 20 miles south of here.

      Arthur W. Hooker, Eureka, driver of the other car, was injured. Mrs. Verg formerly lived in Tooele, Utah.

      Mark E. Verg was born in Olney, N.Y., Feb. 6. 1875, and spent his childhood there and in Clinton, Iowa. He has been a resident of California 60 years. He married Mrs. Verg April 7, 1941. Mr. Verg is survived by two brothers.

      MRS. FANNIE Ebert Verg, was born March 11, 1875 in St. Imer, Switzerland, and spent most of her early life in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. She was a resident of Tooele 15 years before moving to California.

      Mr. and Mrs. Verg are survived by two daughters, Clare Gulbransen, San Gabriel, Calif., and Edna Staten, Salt Lake City; two sons, Max Ebert, San Gabriel, Calif., and Myron Ebert, Burbank, Calif. Mrs. Verg also is survived by a sister, Caroline Fuhrlman, Wellsville, and two brothers, Gustav Bollschweiler, Murray, and Emanuel Bollschweiler, Wells, Nev.; six grandchildren, and five great- grandchildren.
