  Boy Drowned In Bridgeport Dam Six-Year-Old Douglas Geffros Drowned Yesterday. Douglas Geffros, six-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Geffros of Bridgeport, was drowned at noon yesterday when he fell into three feet of water at the foot of the floodgates at the dam at Bridgeport. First alarm of the tragedy was heard when Clarence Underwood, working nearby, was drawn to the scene by the cries of young playmates of Douglas. Underwood waded into three feet of water to pick up the boy, and then tried artificial respiration, which proved fruitless. Waterloo Chronicle 26 Sep 1935 pg 4
