      The death took place at Elmira on Saturday, December 17th, of Mrs. Fred Wilford, in her 80th year. The funeral took place from her late residence on Tuesday, Dec. 20th. Interment was made in Rush's cemetery, Crosshill.

      CELEBRATED 50TH ANNIVERSARY

      Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Wilford Enjoyed Happy Event

      Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Wilford celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at the home of their son, Mr. William Wilford.

      Mr. Wilford was born in Leicestershire, England. Coming to Canada with his parents when about 14 years of age. His family located at Crosshill, Wellesley Township where they followed farming. On the 27th of February, 1872, Mr. Wilford married Mary Anticknap at Crosshill, Rev. James Woodhouse united them. Miss Hannah Anticknap and John T. Wilford, a brother who helped to celebrate at the original wedding, also participated in the Golden Anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Wilford moved to lot 15 Con. 4. Maryborough, in March 1872, where they lived until January, 1921, when they sold their farm and came to Elmira, now living retired.

      Both Mr. and Mrs. Wilford are enjoying splendid health. Mr. Wilford has reached the age of 79 and Mrs. Wilford 75. Mr. and Mrs. Wilford were the recipients of many useful presents and the event on Monday evening was right royally celebrated. Speeches, cards, games and music, was the order of the hour, followed by Mrs. William Wilford.

      Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Wilford, Levett Wilford, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Schneider, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Schneider, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Farr, Elmira; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Wilford and son Tommy, and John T. Wilford, Crosshill, Mr., and Mrs. John T. Petch, Linwood, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Dahmer, Kitchener, Mrs. Alex. Smith, Guelph; Jos. F.. Stumpf, St. Clements; Mr. and Mrs. Jos. J. Boegel, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Ernst, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Dahmer, Mr. and Mrs. William Wilford and son Freddy, all of Elmira.
