  • Notes
    • Noah Schiedel, "the youngest son of Martin and Susannah (Ries) Schiedel, was born on the old "Schiedel Farm" near Breslau, June 15th, 1839. After spending his boyhood on the old farm he, at the age of sixteen years, commenced his life as a clerk with Messrs Yost & Wideman of St. Jacobs, in whose services he remained one year, thence he went to Elmira and engaged himself to Rev. Philip Winkler in whose store he was clerking for three years. Upon leaving Elmira he entered into Partnership with his brother Isaac and started business in Breslau where he remained one year. After leaving Breslau he was engaged in Bridgeport and later in Baden where he was in business for five years, and finally he returned to Bridgeport where he is doing a well paying business in manufacturing brooms. On August 6th, 1859, he was married to Nancy Ferrier who was born August 29th, 1841. Their home is the old "Peter N. Taggie Residence" which property he purchased in 1872. To them are born nine children"
