- SMITH, William - Of 370 Hamilton St., Preston Cambridge, on Jan. 15, 1973, at the South Waterloo Memorial Hospital, in his 75th year; born in Birmingham, England; came to Preston 25 years ago from south Wales; he was a retired machinist; member of St. John's Anglican Church; a veteran of the First World War; served with the RAF in the Second World War; member of the Preston Legion.
Survived by his wife, the former Mabel Cook; three sons, William G. of Napanee, Philip and Robert of Ottawa; one brother in Birmingham, England; nine grandchildren.
Resting at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, Preston Cambridge, where the family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon and evening. Funeral service from the funeral home Thursday at 2 p.m. Cremation to follow. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
