- BLACK, Robert G. - Peacefully after a courageous battle on Wednesday, May 31, 2000 at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital in his 71st year. Beloved husband of Marjorie. Loving father of Lorie Black-Vonk and her husband Arie Vonk of Brantford and John Black and his wife Caprice of Hudson, Ohio. Dear Papa of Jade, Royan and Shannon Black, and Emily, Courtney and Eric Vonk. Bob will be sadly missed by his sister, Helen Johnson of Cambridge, his sister-in-law, Florence and her husband Bill Currie of Brockville, his brother-in-law, Al Cross of Cambridge and Shirley Kalte of Cambridge. Bob was a Past Master Galt Lodge #257, the Waterloo District Secretary for D.D.G.M., a member of Waterloo Chapter #32, Lodge of Perfection Guelph Valley, Rose Croix Chapter Guelph Valley and 320 Ancient and Scottish Rite. He was also a former avid member of the Scout House Band in Preston. Former employee of C.M.C. and Ecolaire. Friends will be received at Coutts & Son Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Masonic Service will be conducted under the auspices of the Galt Lodge #257 A.F. & A.M. at the funeral home on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Funeral and Committal Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, June 3, 2000 at 2 p.m. Cremation to follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. A special thank you to the emergency doctor and the I.C.U. nurses of the Cambridge Memorial Hospital.
