  KANMACHER, Gordon Sylvester Passed away peacefully at his home with his loving family by his side on Friday, December 14, 2012. Gord Kanmacher of Southampton at the age of 83. Dearly beloved husband for 59 years and best friend of Bernice Kanmacher (nee Eby) of Southampton. Loving father of Sheri and her husband Peter Schmalz of Port Elgin, Mary Kanmacher of Southampton, Rod and his wife Julie of Hepworth and Jane Robson of Port Elgin. Proud Grandfather of Brandon, Nathan, Jamie, Candie, Stevie, Bobbie, Billy, Rhonda, Ben, Jesse, Ryder and great-grandfather of eight. Predeceased by his parents Sylvester and Agnes Kanmacher, by his step-mother Hilda Kanmacher and by his in-laws Ben and Florence Eby. Gord was a retired proud member of UA Local 527 Plumbers, Steamfitters and Welders of Kitchener for 57 years. Gord had a great love for his family. He enjoyed his time hunting, fishing, golfing and his annual trips to Florida with Bernie. Parish prayers will be offered in the Eagleson Funeral Home, Southampton at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 16th thence visitation will follow until 4: 30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church Southampton on Monday at 11 a.m. Cremation. Expressions of Remembrance to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the CCAC or to the VON would be appreciated.
