Thomas— Of 778 Walter St., Preston, at the South Waterloo Memorial Hospital, Thursday, Feb. 1, 1973, Thomas Rankin, beloved husband of Violet Johnstone; father of Adeline (Mrs. Albert Stuart) of Toronto, Violet (Mrs. Victor Russell) of Port Elgin, Alex of Mississauga, Harold of Scarborough, Thomas of Toronto; also survived by one brother Ivie Rankin of Windsor; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Linklater, Toronto and Mrs. Peggy Cummings, Tennessee; 13 grandchildren. Mr. Rankin was born in Glasgow, Scotland, came to Preston 20 years ago from Toronto, retired from Eastern Steel, member of Preston Royal Canadian Legion Branch 128 and veteran of the First World War. Resting at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, 566 Queen St., (Preston) Cambridge, where funeral service will be conducted Saturday, Feb. 3 at 4 p.m. Cremation to follow. Memorial service under the auspices of the Preston Royal Canadian Legion will be held tonight at the funeral home at 8: 30 p.m.
