- SPOHN, Katherine Mary (nee Jones) Peacefully, at home, on Sunday, Oct. 28, 1990. Beloved wife of Dr. James D. Spohn of Waterloo and loving mother of Mary and her husband Dr.
Michael Casey of Kitchener and Peter of Penetanguishene; dear grandma of Patrick, Andrea and David Casey. Kay is also survived by her sister, Barbara and her husband Dr. Harold Kester of Vancouver and her brother, Allen H. (Bud) Jones and his wife Margaret of London, Ont. Predeceased by her parents, Willa (Winnett) and Lebert Jones and by her brother, Stewart, who was killed in 1944 while serving with the Essex Scottish Regiment in the Canadian Army.
Kay was an active member of the Church of the Holy Saviour and the Altar Guild of the church. She was a member of Westmount Golf and Country Club, the Women's Auxiliary of K-W Hospital, the Federation of Ontario Naturalists and was a volunteer with the K-W Art Gallery and the K W Symphony. Kay's family will receive friends at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today (Tuesday). The funeral service will be held at the Church of the Holy Saviour, 33 Allen St. E., Waterloo, on Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 1 p.m., with the Venerable Archdeacon Dennis Hayden officiating. Following cremation, interment will take place in St. James On-The-Lines Anglican Church cemetery in Penetanguishene. In Kay's memory, donations to the building fund of the Church of the Holy Saviour, the Canadian Cancer Society or the PCA Pump at K-W Hospital, would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
