- Roland J. Parkinson
Roland J. Parkinson, 35 King St. West, died suddenly at the K-W Hospital early today. He was 66 years of age. The deceased was born Dec. 12, 1882, at Leeds, England. His wife, the former Maude E. Hydes, predeceased him Sept. 5, 1937. They were married in Leeds. Mr. Parkinson was an employee of the Merchants plant of the Dominion Rubber Co., for 30 years, before retiring. He attended St. John's Anglican Church. He was an active member of the K-W Canadian Legion for 25 years and participated in the Decoration Day parade to Mt. Hope Cemetery yesterday for the 25th time. Mr. Parkinson served overseas with the British Army, in the First World War. Deceased was also a member of the Royal Order of Moose. Two brothers Mark and Edward Parkinson, of Leeds England, survive. Funeral services will be at Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home Wednesday, at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Rev. C. W. Mixer of St. John's Anglican Church will officiate. The body is resting at the funeral home.
