      PRESTON, Jun. 26 - A well known resident of Preston for the past 35 years, Joseph Holroyd husband of the late Harriett Quinn, died at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the age of 72 years. He had been ill for the past 6 weeks. Born in Manchester, England, Mr. Holroyd came to Canada from Leeds, England, 34 years ago. A carpenter by trade, he was employed with the former Car and Coach, Clare Bros. and Kondu Manufacturing, retiring 16 years ago. He was an Anglican by faith. His wife predeased him 13 years ago and he is survived by a daughter, Mrs, Joseph La Croix, Preston: two sons, Charles of Preston and Pte. Frank Holroyd with the H.L.I. overseas. Six grandchildren also survive. The remains are resting at the Stager-Pass Funeral Home from where the funeral will be held on Thursday at 2: 30, Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
