- Duncan McKeracher
PRESTON— The death occurred at the South Waterloo Memorial Hospital yesterday of Duncan McKeracher a well-known Preston resident, after a long illness. Mr. McKeracher was born in Crieff, Scotland. He attended Morrison's Academy there, and graduated from King's College, London, England, with a bachelor of arts degree. He came to Canada in 1913 and started with the communication department of the Canadian Pacific Railway. In 1915 he transferred to the Grand River and Lake Erie and Northern Railway and was line foreman until his retirement in 1947. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, a member of Doric Lodge A.F. & A.M. Brantford, the Hamilton Sovereign Chapter of Rose Croix and Moore Consistory in Hamilton, a past T.P.G.M., and life member of Royal City Lodge of Perfection and Rose Croix Chapter, Guelph and the Scottish Rite club of Preston. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. John Ashbrook of Scotland. The body is at the Stager-Pass Funeral Home where the funeral will be held Monday at 3 o'clock. Interment will be in the Preston cemetery.
