- CHRISTINA HASCARL
PRESTON, Jan. 6 - One of Preston's oldest residents, Mrs. Christina Marie Hascarl, 85, died early today at her home, 350 Laurel Street.
Almost lifelong resident of this town, she has been in ill health for the past years. Mrs. Hascarl was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, the Missionary Society, honorary member of the Ladies' Aid.
She was also a member of the Preston Horticultural Society and won many prizes exhibiting flowers and plants. Her husband, Hascarl, died in 1921.
Survives are one son, Louis of Nakusp, B.C., eight daughters, Mrs. Joseph Rettinger, Mrs. Fred Lang. Mrs. Duncan Pollock and Mrs. Harold Costigan, all of Preston, Mrs. C. Hill of Toronto, Mrs. Andrew Hart, of Philadelphia, Edward Coper and Mrs. John Fraser of Galt, ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Remains will be at the H. K. Stager Funeral Home until Wednesday at 2 p.m. when they will be removed to the residence where funeral be held on Thursday afternoon 2:30 o'clock with interment in Preston Cemetery.
