      PRESTON, May 9— Stricken with a heart attack while preparing to take part in the special V-E day services of the Canadian Legion on Monday afternoon, Samuel Rainey, 53, veteran of the last war and well-known Preston resident, died about 8 o'clock Monday evening at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener. He was preparing to parade with the veterans. Born at Lisburn, Ireland, Mr. Rainey lived there until coming to Canada 15 years ago, living in Preston since that time. In the last war he served from 1914 to 1919 in the 11th Royal Irish Rifles. A member of Knox Presbyterian Church, he was also a member of the local Canadian Legion branch, and was an employee of Werlich Manufacturing Co. Surviving are his wife, Ada Watson; a son, Ordinary Seaman John Rainey, Halifax; one daughter, Mrs, Harry Anderson Liverpool, England; four sisters, Mrs, Maurice Beaver, Preston, Mrs. David Johnson, Mrs. Matthew Irvine, Miss Agnes Rainey, all of Lisburn; one brother, Pte. David Rainey, R.A.M.C. Preston, just returned from service overseas, A daughter, Margaret, predeceased him in December, 1943, The remains are resting at the Stager-Pass Funeral Home from where the funeral will be held on Friday at 2: 30. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery,
