TAVISTOCK - Mail carrier for a Tavistock rural route for 20 years, Mahlon G. Ruby, 58 John St., died Saturday at Stratford Hospital where he had been a patient for 10 days. He was 52. Mr. Ruby was born in East Zorra Township, a son of Mrs. Sarah Ruby, Tavistock, and the late Nicklas Ruby. He had lived in the township for some time, then in Tavistock, moving to South Easthope Township, and returning to Tavistock in July, 1968. He was a member of the Tavistock Mennonite Church and of the Tavistock branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. He had served with the Highland Light Infantry in Canada during the Second World War. He married the former Ruby Mildred Mohr in North Easthope Nov. 25, 1939. She died June 21, 1969. Surviving are his mother; three sons, Howard and Fred of Tavistock, and Carl of New Hamburg; two brothers, Nelson of Tavistock and Ervin of Kitchener; one sister, Mrs. Ervin (Ernaline) Bast of New Hamburg and two granddaughters. A son, Verle, predeceased him in1967. The funeral was held at Tavistock Mennonite Church today. Interment was in East Zorra Mennonite cemetery. Rev. Wit.mer Martin officiated. A legion service was held at the Francis Funeral Home Sunday.

Ruby, Mahlon Glen, son of Nicklas and Sarah Ruby, died at Stratford, Ont., March 28, 1970. On Nov. 25, 1939, he was married to Ruby Mildred Mohr, who died June 21, 1969. Surviving are 3 sons (Howard, Fred, and Carl), 2 granddaughters, 2 brothers (Nelson and Ervin), and one sister (Emaline-Mrs. Ervin Bast). He was a member of the Tavistock Church, where funeral services were held March 30, with Wilmer R. Martin officiating; interment in the East Zorra Mennonite Cemetery.
