    • Shakespeare Man Dies as Car Rolls

      A 24-year-old accountant with the Waterloo Trust and Savings Co., was killed late Saturday night when be was thrown from his car on Highway 7 about a mile west of Petersburg. Dead is Verle Glen Ruby of RR 1, Shakespeare. His car was wrecked as it rolled over several times into a ditch. Ruby was thrown into a nearby field. Coroner Dr. G. Lynne-Davies pronounced him dead at the scene. Mrs. Ruby worked at Waterloo Trust's Forest Hill branch. He was born in Tavistock, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Mahlon Ruby of RR 1, Shakespeare. After graduating from the Tavistock public school and the Waterloo-Oxford district high school, be joined Waterloo Trust. He had worked there for the past six years. He was affiliated with the Tavistock Mennonite Church. Surviving are his parents; three brothers. Howard and Carl, both of RR 1, Shakespeare, and Frederick of Tavistock; and his grandmother, Mrs. Nickolas (Sarah) Ruby of Tavistock. The body will be at the Francis Funeral Home in Tavistock until noon Wednesday, when removal will be made to the East Zorra Mennonite Church for the funeral at 2: 30 p.m. Rev. Newton Gingrich will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
