  Charles Schneider PRESTON, June 20— Charles Valentine Schneider, 82, a resident of Preston for 55 years, died at his home, 916 Hamilton St., Preston, Saturday after an illness of 3.5 weeks. Mr. Schneider had formed a large circle of intimate friends. Born in Germany he came to America 65 years ago, living for some time in the United States, before coming to Preston, until his retirement about a year ago, he was employed at the Pattson Woollen Mill. He was a member of the Jehovah Witnesses. Surviving are three daughters, Miss Hilda Schneider at home; Mrs. Andrew Jansen of Preston and Mrs. Gordon Tomkins of Caledonia; a son, William Schneider, at home; a brother, Edward Schneider of Detroit, and two grandchildren. His wife predeceased him in 1942, a son, Harry, in 1938 and a daughter, Beatrice, in 1919. The body is resting at the Sager-Pass Funeral Home where the funeral will be held Tuesday, at 2 p.m. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery. Kitchener-Waterloo Record 20 Jun 1949 pg 5
