  FRENCH, MICHAEL JOHN Formerly of R. R. #2, Hespeler, at the home of his daughter, Mary (Mrs. Harold Weber) of 12 Montrose St. in Kitchener, on Tuesday, February 14, 1967, aged 70 years. Born in Ireland on Aug. 9, 1897, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William French. He moved to Hespeler at the age of 10. He had farmed in the Puslinch Lake area nearly all his life. He was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. Mr. French was also a member of the Hespeler Lodge of the Independent Order of Oddfellows. Surviving are his wife, Marjorie Hodgson; two sons, William Joseph of Yorkton, SK; Michael John of Brampton; a daughter, Mary (Mrs. Harold Weber) of Kitchener; a brother, Joseph of Guelph; a sister, Kathleen of Toronto; and six grandchildren. Predeceased by two infant daughters and a sister. A memorial service was held by Hespeler I. O. O. F. Lodge Thursday evening, Feb. 16. Service at the Nelson Funeral Home in Hespeler on Friday at 2. Pallbearers: Martin Paddock, Harold MacLean, Joseph Guy, Scott Fixter, William McCormick and Clifford Tremain. Burial in Killean Cemetery. -Information from the marriage certificate: Born c. 1897 in Dublin, son of William French and Mary Murphy. He married Marjorie Marie Hodgson, daughter of Robert Hodgson and Hannah Towell on Jan. 24, 1923. -Information from the death certificate of Marie Hannah French: Died on July 10, 1924, at age 6 days. Born in Puslinch on July 4, 1924, daughter of Michael John French and Marjorie M. Hodgson of lot 11, rear concession 1 in Puslinch. Burial in Killean on July 11. -Information from the death certificate of Marjorie Edna Shaw: Born on Mar. 9, 1927, daughter of Michael French and Marjorie Hodgson. Died March 16, 1927 between Puslinch and the Galt Hospital, as a result of a cerebral haemorhage from pressure at birth. Informant - M. French of R. R. #2, Hespeler, her father.
