  Miss Alvina Homuth PRESTON - Alvina Marie Dorothea Homuth, known affectionately and respectfully as Preston's "Aunt Alvina" died at noon yesterday at the Sprucehill Nursing Home, Hespeler. She was 86. Born in Preston, daughter of the late John and Wilhelmine Homuth, Miss Homuth resided here all her life with the exception of 12 years spent in South Bend, Ind. For the past 40 years she had made her home at the same address, 149 Argyle St. Her deep rooted interest in the community and her generosity to people in trouble won her a large circle of sincere friends. A devoted member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Miss Homuth was a member of all ladies' organizations of the church. She was a lifelong Sunday school teacher. Five nieces and two nephews survive. They are Mrs. William (Sadie) Galloway of Toronto, Mrs. John (Clara) Davison. Preston; Mrs. Ephriam Mellander, Miss Mabel Hagey and Mrs. Frank Hellner of South Bend, Ind.; Howard Homuth, Preston. and John Homuth of Chicago. The body will rest at the Stager-Pass Funeral Home until noon Saturday, then at St. Peter's Lutheran Church for service at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Preston Cemetery.
