  • Notes 
    • Mr. Ambrose Winter, of Preston, died very suddenly at his home in that place, on Wednesday evening. Deceased was one of the oldest residents of the place, and was highly esteemed. In politics he was a staunch Liberal, and remembered the time when there were only three Liberals in Preston. About 25 years ago his family was decimated by typhoid, his wife and four children falling victims to the malady. His oldest son Charles, who was well known in the Twin-City, died in Preston a few years ago. The surviving children are: - Frank, of the firm of Gourlay, Winter & Leeming, Toronto; Washington, in Australia; Ogden, dentist in Preston; Herbert, druggist in Toronto; Mrs. Fred Arntfeldt, Preston; and Nellie at home.
