  MRS. F. G. HICKS PRESTON, Nov 23 -- Suffering a heart attack while in Kitchener yesterday afternoon, Mrs. Hilda May Major Hicks, 51, wife of Frederick G. Hicks, Fountain street, Preston, died suddenly. The deceased a well known resident, was walking on Queen street, Kitchener, accompanied by her granddaughter, six year old Sandra Mueller, Preston. Feeling faint the late Mrs. Hicks sat on a step at a residence, her granddaughter advising the residents who took Mrs. Hicks into their home where she passed away a short time later. Deceased was born in Highwicham, England, coming to Canada 28 years ago and making her home in Welland for a few months, then moving to Hespeler. About 20 years ago the family moved to Preston. She was a member of St John's Anglican church and of the Women's Guild. Surviving are her husband, a son, Gerold John Hicks, Preston, three daughters, Mrs. Clarence Miller and Mrs. James Dostel, Preston and Mrs. Walter Rickert, Kitchener; her mother, three brothers and two sisters in England and four grandchildren. The remains are at the Gordon Pass Funeral Home, Preston, Funeral services will be held in St. John's Anglican church, Preston, on Wednesday at 3 o'clock. Interment will be in the Preston cemetery.
