- Manford A. Steiss
ST. CLEMENTS - Manford A. Steiss of St. Clements died from a heart attack at his home Monday. He was 76. Born near Heidelberg, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Steiss. He was a member of St. Clements RC Church. A veteran of the First World War, he served with the 118th Battalion. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Mary Kieswetter, on May 22, 1961; a son, three brothers and five sisters. Surviving are a foster daughter, Mrs. Haig (Theresa) Douglas of Kitchener; a brother, Ezra, of St. Jacobs; and three foster grandchildren. The body will be at the family residence after 7 p.m. today where the parish rosary will be recited Wednesday at 8: 30 p.m. and prayers said Thursday at 9 a.m. Removal will follow to the church for requiem mass at 9: 30 a.m. Rev. V. J. Pickett will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
