  Mrs. Sarah Jane Wallis PRESTON, July 21— Well known Preston resident for the past 44 years, Sarah Jane Evans, widow of Murty Lloyd Wallis, died in Galt hospital at 8: 30 this morning at the age of 70 years. Mrs. Wallis had been ailing for the past two years, seriously ill for the past two weeks and confined to hospital since Sunday. Born in Doon, she resided in Galt for a short time, prior to her marriage 44 years ago at Port Stanley to Murty Lloyd Wallis, who predeceased her 10 years ago. Since her marriage she had lived in Preston and had formed a large circle of friends. A member of St. John's Anglican Church, Mrs. Wallis was a member of Queen Rebekah Lodge, Preston, of which she was a past noble grand. She was also a member of the Women's Auxiliary and the Guild of St. John's Church and of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen. Surviving are a daughter, Miss Helen Elizabeth Wallis, Preston and two brothers, Ernest Evans, Montreal and George Evans of Lethbridge. The body is resting at the Stager-Pass Funeral Home. The funeral will take place at St. John's Anglican Church. Friday at 3 p.m. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery. Kitchener-Waterloo Record 21 Jul 1948 pg 19
