  ALTON S . BOWMAN PRESTON - From Caledonia Mich., comes word of the passing recently of Alton S. Bowman, eldest son of Elias C. and Harriet Bowman, wellknown throughout the Preston and Kitchener district among members of the Ko1p families. The late Mr. Bowman was born in Gainsboro township July 7. 1880 and he was married to Grace L. Howard on February 12, 1908, of this union there was one daughter, Ethna Winona. He spent practically his entire life in Caledonia, Mich., district serving for 29 years with the Citizens and Michigan Bell Telephone Company. He was forced to retire in 1932 because of ill health. The deceased was a member of the Masonic order, Eastern Star and Telephone Pioneers of America. Surviving are his widow and daughter, his mother, one sister, Mrs. Audie Roberts of Gladwin and two brothers, Randel and Arthur, both of Gainsboro township., Mich.
